Architectural design competition for Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge.

(Dong Nai) - The Department of Construction of Dong Nai province recently organized a competition to select the most optimal architectural and technical design for the Cat Lai Bridge project, part of the Cat Lai Bridge construction investment project, and the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) project, part of the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2) construction investment project, under the public-private partnership method.

The competition aims to select the most optimal architectural and engineering design for the two projects, meeting the following objectives: ensuring compliance with planning regulations and meeting current and long-term future traffic needs; fulfilling functional, technical, and economic efficiency requirements for investment project planning and construction implementation; selecting a representative, modern, unique, and iconic architectural form for the gateway to the Southeast region; creating a distinctive landscape highlight, contributing to enhancing the value of the Đồng Nai riverside space and completing the regional transportation network; ensuring the design harmonizes with the river landscape, creating a distinctive architectural appearance, and promoting urban and tourism development in the two localities.

Accordingly, for the architectural design competition of the Cat Lai Bridge project, the construction site will be located in Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City. The total length of the project under study is approximately 3.7km within the Cat Lai Bridge area, including: the starting point at Km1+500, located on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, about 400m from the My Thuy intersection towards the Cat Lai ferry; and the end point at Km5+200, connecting to the Cat Lai Bridge access road on the Dong Nai side.

Construction scope: Construction of a permanent bridge using reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete, and steel. The Cat Lai bridge and approach roads will be designed as urban main roads, with a design speed of 80 km/h according to QCVN 07:2023/BXD and TCVN 13592:2022 (Urban roads - design requirements). Bridge and approach road width: ensuring 6 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles.

For the architectural design competition for the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge), the construction site is located in Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City. The total length of the project under study is approximately 3.5km within the Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) area, including: The starting point at Km2+530, located on the inter-regional road in Long Phuoc Ward, about 2.5km from the Go Cong intersection towards Ho Chi Minh City; the end point at Km6+340 connecting to the 777B access road in An Phuoc Commune and Tam Phuoc Ward, Dong Nai Province.

Construction scope: Construction of permanent bridges using reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete, and steel. Construction of Long Hung Bridge (Dong Nai 2 Bridge) and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge designed as urban main roads, with a design speed of 80 km/h according to QCVN 07:2023/BXD and TCVN 13592:2022 Urban roads - design requirements. Bridge and approach road width: ensuring 6 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles.

The deadline for submitting applications for the two competitions is 5 PM on January 16, 2026. Applications should be submitted to: Dong Nai Provincial Department of Construction, 38 Phan Chu Trinh Street, Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province (contact Mr. Vo Thai Dong, phone: 0932.971991).
