Nunez's priority is to stay in Europe, hoping to play in the Champions League. |
Al Hilal are still looking for a striker this summer, after Victor Osimhen turned down a €30m-a-year offer from the Saudi Arabian club. Football Italia reports that Simone Inzaghi's side are keen on Darwin Nunez and have opened talks with Liverpool.
If he moves to Al Hilal, Nunez will receive an income of no less than 30 million euros/year, the figure that the club once offered to negotiate with Osimhen. Gulf Times revealed that Nunez could even receive a higher salary than what Al Hilal offered Osimhen.
However, the Uruguayan striker wants to continue playing at the top level in Europe, in the context of the 2026 World Cup starting next summer. Currently, he only receives attention from Italian clubs.
Napoli held talks with Liverpool in the early weeks of the summer, but eventually opted for Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese, while Juventus also made contact with Nunez, before going all-in on Randal Kolo Muani from PSG.
Nunez himself also really wants to leave Anfield to have a chance to revive his career. However, this striker is still stuck at Liverpool, when the English club set a high price for their player. Nunez is facing an important turning point in his career this summer.
A source close to the player said Nunez will continue to wait in the next few days to see if any other attractive opportunities from Europe arise.
