Nvidia is stepping up its ambitions in the CPU (central processing unit) market for artificial intelligence, after introducing its new RTX Spark PC chip at the Computex exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan (China).
According to Nvidia, the RTX Spark is a "superchip" capable of processing approximately 1 quadrillion calculations per second, designed to run AI agents like OpenClaw or Hermes Agent in a safer way. An AI agent can be simply understood as artificial intelligence software capable of performing certain tasks on behalf of the user, rather than just answering questions like a typical chatbot.
Windows PCs powered by RTX Spark are expected to launch this fall from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and MSI, with Acer and Gigabyte joining later. Nvidia says these devices will feature a secure processing area developed in collaboration with Microsoft, designed to help AI agents operate in a more secure environment.

In addition, the new computers will be equipped with sufficient CPU, GPU (graphics processor), RAM, and Nvidia's CUDA software platform to run large-scale language models directly on the device. This could help users handle some AI tasks without relying entirely on cloud servers.
Nvidia is also promoting RTX Spark as a new option for AI content creators and gamers. The company says more than 100 Windows software developers have committed to supporting the new chip, including Adobe, Blender, ComfyUI, Riot Games, and Xbox.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang has higher expectations for this line of PCs. According to Huang, users can give instructions and the computer will automatically perform the tasks, from AI model processing and creative workflows to gaming.
This ambition follows Huang's earlier statement that Nvidia sees a $200 billion AI CPU market. However, pricing and detailed specifications for many models have yet to be announced by PC manufacturers.
