Accordingly, with a minimum of 15 old batteries (AA, AAA, C, D types), customers can exchange them for one of the "green" gifts including: a canvas bag, a convenient bamboo straw, a kraft cover notebook, or an exclusive premium account number fromOCB . Battery collection stations have been installed at all OCB branches nationwide, ready to receive old batteries from customers. All collected batteries will be handed over to the relevant and authorized unit for proper processing, minimizing negative impacts on the ecosystem.

The OCB Pin Hunter campaign is not simply about collecting hazardous waste; it's also an inspiring journey, connecting individuals with their responsibility to protect the environment and encouraging the community to act for a sustainable ecosystem.

With the message "Old batteries become green - A healthier Earth," OCB hopes that the campaign will create positive changes from the smallest things; each old battery properly processed today will be a solid step towards a greener future.

Battery collection stations have been set up at all OCB branches nationwide.

“Recognizing the widespread use of batteries in household and office electronic devices, we often discard them improperly when they are no longer usable. This action is silently leaving many long-term consequences for nature and human health; specifically, each battery can pollute 1 cubic meter of soil and 500 liters of water for 50 years. Therefore, we have come up with a practical solution: building each branch and transaction office of the bank into a Green Transaction Point. In addition to providing modern and convenient financial solutions, this also serves as a collection point for used batteries for everyone. This is a program we are very passionate about and hope to implement long-term, spreading awareness of green living and calling for community participation in environmental protection, aiming for sustainable development, shared Mr. Pham Hong Hai, General Director of OCB.

Besides carrying out a series of environmental protection and social contribution activities, OCB also particularly promotes the provision of capital and financial services towards a green economy , a circular economy that is environmentally friendly, and environmental and social risk management, with the support of many reputable international organizations, such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

In 2024 alone, OCB has been prioritizing capital allocation and expanding effective lending to value-added projects, clean energy, and high-tech agriculture such as: Renewable energy including wind power, solar power, and hydropower; Green building projects like A+ buildings; Water supply plants and smart agriculture using sustainable farming methods, drip irrigation, water storage/reservoir…

As of December 31, 2024, green credit at OCB had increased by 30% compared to 2023. This is considered a high credit growth rate compared to other banks in the system.

It is known that in 2025, OCB will continuously develop digital products; increase the scale of green credit, promote social welfare work, share with the community and build a safe and happy working environment… demonstrating the bank's strong commitment to the greening journey, accompanying the Government towards the Net Zero goal by 2050.
