Onana negotiates to leave MU

According to Foot Mercato , the Cameroonian goalkeeper has begun negotiations with Neom SC, a newly promoted team in the Saudi Pro League. Onana's representatives and Neom officials are discussing a transfer deal this summer.

Neom SC are said to be serious, while Onana is also interested in the opportunity. If the deal goes through, Onana could join Kevin De Bruyne, who is also a target for Neom SC as he looks set to leave the Etihad on a free transfer.

Neom SC won early promotion to the Saudi Pro League, finishing 10 points ahead of the second-placed team. With the ambition to stay in the top league in Saudi Arabia, Neom SC is willing to spend a lot of money to bring in famous players from Europe.

Onana personally reached his peak form while playing for Inter Milan. His impressive performances earned him a £47 million move to the UK in the summer of 2023.

However, Onana has struggled since arriving at Old Trafford, making several costly mistakes that led to him being dropped by coach Ruben Amorim in the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle on May 13.

If Onana decides to leave, MU will have money to cover the plan to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window of 2025. Porto's Diogo Costa, Espanyol's Joan Garcia and Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale are all in the Red Devils' sights.
