The State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises has just issued a decision on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong, a member of the board of members of Vietnam Electricity Group, as chairman of the board of members of the National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO), formerly the National Electricity System Dispatch Center (A0).

Thus, Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong will be the legal representative as stipulated in the charter of NSMO Company, replacing Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh - acting general director - who was temporarily assigned power by the State Capital Management Committee a few days before.

According to the schedule, today, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises will hold a conference to sign the minutes of the handover of the National Power System Dispatch Center from this agency to the Ministry of Industry and Trade .

This took place after the Prime Minister issued a decision on August 1, agreeing to the establishment of NSMO Company to carry out the transfer from EVN and the State Capital Management Committee to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The National Electricity System and Market Operation Company Limited is a state-owned enterprise with 100% of charter capital held by the State. This company will continue to act as the national electricity system dispatching agency, operating electricity market transactions in accordance with the provisions of the Electricity Law and related laws.

With a charter capital of 776 billion VND, the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company Limited received the current status of the National Power System Dispatch Center's employees from EVN.

This includes accepting the existing management apparatus of A0 on the basis of arranging A0's leadership and management staff into corresponding leadership positions of NSMO.

The National Electricity System and Electricity Market Operation Company Limited will also inherit all rights, obligations and legal interests of the Electricity System Dispatch Center currently implemented by A0 and EVN related to A0 according to the law, including loans under the signed agreement.

With the above decision, Mr. Cuong will officially take on the position of head of NSMO - the agency managing and operating the national power system under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Mr. Cuong also held the position of Director of the National Power System Dispatch Center, before being appointed as a member of the board of members of Vietnam Electricity Group since February 2020.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong was born in 1972, from Duy Tien, Ha Nam . He has worked for many years at A0 in positions such as electrical system calculation engineer, deputy head of the Methodology Department, head of the Training Research Department, and head of the Economic Operations Department.

Since 2005, he has held many positions as deputy head of the department, head of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment, and EVN Power Grid Engineering Department. He was then appointed as deputy general director, member of the board of members of the National Power Transmission Corporation in 2008 and has been director of A0 since 2015.
