Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung holds the position of Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council.

On the morning of August 14th, at the 25th session of the 10th term of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, delegates voted to elect the chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

The result showed that all 47 delegates present agreed to elect Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung – the permanent deputy secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee – as the chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, a rate of 100%.

Thus, after several months of this position being vacant, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council has now filled the position of chairman.

In April 2024, at its 21st session, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council dismissed Mr. Phan Viet Cuong from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term (due to retirement).

Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, 57 years old, is from Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province. He holds a degree from the People's Security University and has advanced political theory qualifications.

He previously held various positions in the police force, including: Deputy Head of the Security Investigation Department of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, and Deputy Head of the Nong Son District Police.

From October 2012 to November 2014, he served as Head of the Political Protection Department and then Head of the Staff Department of the Provincial Police. From August 2016 to November 2019, he was Deputy Director of the Provincial Police. In November 2019, he was appointed Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police.

In July 2024, the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee held a conference to implement the personnel procedures for electing a deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

The results showed that 100% of the provincial Party committee members present voted to elect Major General Nguyen Duc Dung as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.

Subsequently, the Party Secretariat approved Mr. Dung's appointment as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. The Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee also unanimously agreed to assign Mr. Dung to the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
