According to the report, during the 2019-2024 term, the City Union of Literature and Arts Associations has achieved many remarkable achievements. The activities of the Union of Associations have been vibrant and practical, with many works of high ideological and artistic value, winning awards at local, regional, national and international literary and artistic competitions and festivals. Thereby, the Union of Associations has actively contributed to the overall development of the city's and the country's literature and arts.
To date, the Association has more than 1,200 members, of which more than 100 have been newly admitted. Nearly 500 members belong to the Central Literature and Arts Associations and more than 500 members are Party members. Notably, 16 members have been awarded the State Prize, 8 People's Artists, 2 People's Artisans, 37 Meritorious Artists, 2 Meritorious Artisans, and 19 members have received the Commemorative Medal "For the Cause of Vietnamese Literature and Arts."
The activities of the Association closely follow the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws and policies, contributing to building a comprehensive, democratic, equitable and civilized Da Nang city.
Members are constantly creative, achieving many achievements in domestic and international competitions, and publishing many valuable works. The work of fostering creative capacity and political awareness for members is also focused on, creating conditions for the strong development of the young artists.
In the new term, the Association will focus on building an increasingly strong organization, developing both the quantity and quality of its artists. The Association will continue to encourage the creation of works of ideological and artistic value, and fight against distorted and distorted content. At the same time, it will focus on investing in creating many quality works, vividly reflecting the heroic past and dynamic reality of the rich, civilized, and modern city of Da Nang; making worthy contributions to the cause of building a comprehensively developed Da Nang people, with a constantly improving spiritual and cultural life in the direction of "truth - goodness - beauty".
In particular, the City's Union of Literature and Arts Associations plans to invest in organizing outstanding events in 2025 such as: The 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day with the theme "The Fatherland flies up"; The campaign to create Literature, Photography, and Music with the theme "Spring in Da Nang"; Art programs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South, national reunification and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang city.
Speaking at the Congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts, contributions and outstanding achievements of the City Literature and Arts Association in the past term.
Agreeing with the directions, goals, tasks and solutions in the report, Deputy Secretary Nguyen Dinh Vinh emphasized that the Union of Associations needs to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's resolutions and conclusions on culture, literature and art in the new period. At the same time, the organization must closely link with the strategy for developing Vietnamese culture and people, as well as the policies and orientations of the Central Committee, especially Conclusion No. 79 of the Politburo on implementing Resolution No. 43 on building and developing Da Nang to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
In particular, the role of Da Nang in becoming a center of culture, art, scientific research and human resource training in this field for the North Central and Central Coast regions is very important. The team of artists needs to promote their creativity and enthusiasm, contributing to the development of the city's and the country's literature and art. Affirming and spreading the noble values and fine traditions of the Vietnamese people must go hand in hand with preserving the unique cultural identity of Da Nang.
Deputy Secretary Nguyen Dinh Vinh suggested that the Association should continue to promote its role in formulating and recommending solutions to build a strong Party Committee and city government, fostering people's trust, and actively participating in orienting and building a socialist model and socialist people in Da Nang under the direction of General Secretary To Lam.
In addition, be vigilant against potential risks, especially plots and tricks from hostile forces, focus on building a strong team, propagate and encourage members to cultivate their character, qualities, and abilities, and not be influenced by wrongdoings.
Promote and develop the Da Nang cultural and artistic brand, not only domestically but also internationally; especially maintain cooperative relations with Daegu City (Korea) to contribute to building the image of Da Nang as a friendly, integrated, and culturally rich city.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and Inspection Committee of the City Union of Literature and Arts Associations for the 2024-2029 term. Mr. Nguyen Nho Khiem was elected Chairman of the City Union of Literature and Arts Associations.
On this occasion, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh presented a banner from the City Party Executive Committee to the Congress with the words "Solidarity - Creativity - Democracy - Humanity". The Union received the Emulation Flag and Certificate of Merit from the Central Government, the City People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for their outstanding achievements in cultural and artistic activities.
