Many people buy stolen motorbikes from thieves in Ho Chi Minh City, transport them to Tay Ninh , and then sell them to Cambodia for profit.
On June 29, the Police Investigation Agency of District 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) initiated a criminal case, indicted and temporarily detained Le Van Thien Loc (29 years old, residing in District 7) for the crime of "theft of property"; Pham Ta Hoang Huy (35 years old, residing in District 3) and Pham Thanh Nhieu (37 years old, from Tay Ninh province) for the crime of "receiving stolen property".
In that case, Loc had just been released from prison for "theft of property," and Huy had just been released from prison for "receiving stolen property."

According to the investigation, Loc was unemployed and needed money, so he came up with the idea of stealing property. On the afternoon of May 16th, Loc walked from his home in District 7 to District 1 to look for vulnerable targets to steal from.
That evening, Loc spotted a motorbike parked in front of a shop on Ho Tung Mau Street (Ben Nghe Ward, District 1) unattended, so he broke the lock and fled. Afterwards, Loc went online to have a new key made for his own use and then sold it to Huy for 3.5 million VND.
Upon receiving the victim's report, the detectives arrested Loc and summoned Huy for questioning. At the police station, both confessed to knowing each other through their participation in an online motorcycle trading group. After buying the motorcycle from Loc, Huy resold it to Nhieu for 4.2 million VND. Prior to this, Huy and Nhieu had frequently communicated and agreed on the buying and selling of motorcycles without registration papers, which were obtained through criminal activity.
Based on this testimony, a reconnaissance team was dispatched to Nhieu's residence in Tay Ninh province to arrest the suspect and seize numerous related pieces of evidence.
Regarding the motorbike purchased from Huy, Nhieu confessed to selling it to Lam Van Thai (44 years old, from Tay Ninh) for 5 million VND. When questioned, Thai confessed to selling the motorbike to a Cambodian man (whose identity is unknown) for 6 million VND.
The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
