The program aims to provide material and spiritual support to 1.2 million poor people, people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people in society.
"Sending Gifts to Contribute to Tet" is a campaign under the "Compassionate Tet" movement, organized annually by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee and its network in 63 provinces and cities. "Compassionate Tet" innovates the form of material and spiritual assistance to help the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people enjoy the spring and celebrate Tet during the traditional Lunar New Year.
The activities of the "Tet of Compassion" Movement are designed to ensure the participation and decision-making rights of beneficiaries; respect the cultural customs and traditions of local people; and promote a support network in the community so that all citizens can demonstrate their social responsibility towards the poor and disadvantaged by participating in the organization and contributing available resources.
Today, with the support of technology, alongside traditional methods, sending gifts has become more convenient and easier. Millions of compassionate Vietnamese people who want to send gifts to contribute to the Lunar New Year celebrations can text, transfer money, shop online and automatically accumulate funds for charity, or choose to shop for the Lunar New Year at retailers that commit to donating funds to the campaign…
Send Tet gifts by sending a message.
All Vietnamese citizens using mobile phones can send a text message with the syntax TET to 1409 via the 1400 portal (fee: 20,000 VND/message). An action taking no more than 30 seconds can help provide a family with extra sticky rice cakes and a box of Tet jam. Compassion from the community will give strength, faith, and hope to the less fortunate in society.
Send Tet gifts to fellow countrymen through transparent bank transfers.
Vietnamese citizens can send Tet gifts to poor households in their hometowns, the places where they were born and raised, by transferring any amount of money:

Send gifts to contribute to Tet by shopping for Tet online.
By using the charity shopping method, when shopping for Tet online, we can donate the refunded funds to the Tet Gift-Sending Campaign. Specifically:
- Download the Charity app on your smartphone and register an account.
- Access the charity shopping portal in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Choose the Vietnam Red Cross as the recipient of automatic fund deductions.
- Shop for Tet (Lunar New Year) online with hundreds of thousands of items from partnered e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tiki, Lazada… and famous brands.
Sending Tet gifts after the last shipment of the year.
The campaign coordinating committee is encouraging businesses, households, retailers, and online sellers to register a target of allocating a portion of their year-end business revenue to send Tet gifts to needy people. Visit https://chuthapdo.vn/guiquagopTet, under the "Year-End Shipment" section, and register your business information and the amount you wish to allocate to the Tet business fund.
The campaign will help promote businesses that engage in charitable activities, providing "Charitable Tet Stamps" for businesses to affix to their goods and products, thereby encouraging people to shop for Tet from these vendors.
Through this meaningful campaign, the organizing unit hopes to receive the attention, support, and assistance of the community so that the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and the vulnerable in society can have a warmer Tet holiday.
