BTO - On the morning of June 23rd, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police organized the launching ceremony for the program "My House Has a Fire Extinguisher".
The program is implemented to effectively carry out the "four on-the-spot" principle: on-the-spot command, on-the-spot forces, on-the-spot equipment and supplies, and on-the-spot logistics in fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue operations.
The program also requires each officer, soldier, and member of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to set an example in responding to the movement; to encourage their families and households to equip themselves with at least one fire extinguisher at home. At the same time, they should actively promote the effective implementation of the "four on-the-spot" principle in fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue work among the people.
Equipping each household with fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment is one of the measures to ensure the safety of oneself and one's family, and to minimize damage in the event of a fire.
At the launching ceremony, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department donated 4 fire extinguishers to the Binh Thuan "0-dong" ambulance service and all officers and soldiers in the unit.
According to statistics, Binh Thuan currently has approximately 332,600 family homes and about 5,700 family homes combined with production and business activities. Most of these homes are built in the form of terraced houses, often without ensuring safe fire-fighting distances. However, many households have not yet equipped themselves with on-site fire-fighting equipment, making them extremely dangerous in the event of a fire or explosion. From 2022 to the present, Binh Thuan has experienced 60 fires of varying sizes, with residential fires accounting for over 50%, resulting in property damage of nearly 500 million VND.
