The 2024 season saw hundreds of technology contestants participating, witnessing the ETTN team from Hanoi University of Science and Technology win the championship with the project “Application of AI and IoT in factory production monitoring”. The solution is being developed by the team with engineers from DENSO Vietnam to be put into practical implementation from 2026.
Ms. Pham Minh Hao, CEO of DENSO Vietnam factory, said: “The first prize winning team chose the direction of integrating AI and IoT, a solution that is very close to the reality of production at the factory, where every day a huge amount of data is generated. This is also a major bottleneck: a lot of data but it is difficult to analyze thoroughly by human power. The idea is to use IoT sensors to digitize the status of machines, then apply AI to process and analyze the data, helping to detect abnormalities and predict problems. This solution not only improves monitoring efficiency but also opens up the possibility of predictive maintenance, saving costs and improving operational efficiency."
Unlike the previous two seasons, DENSO Factory Hacks 2025 offers a series of topics based on production practices to help candidates understand factory operations. Smart forecasting: collect and analyze data to predict market trends or production disruption risks. Precise operation: optimize production lines to reduce errors and waste. Continuous production: maintain high productivity and deliver on time.
Ideas revolving around these three steps will contribute to creating a smart, sustainable factory model.
The contest takes place from September 15 to December 17, 2025 with three rounds: CV scanning and ideas (candidates submit ideas from registration, editing until October 26).
Presentation round (November 20): 10 excellent teams were selected, each team received 5 million VND to develop solutions.
Final (December 17): 5 teams compete directly, the champion team receives 100 million VND in cash.
The contest is open to all technology enthusiasts, forming teams of up to 5 members, with no age limit (priority given to freshmen). Candidates need to have knowledge or interest in the following fields: data science , artificial intelligence, internet of things, programming...
