Launching emulation to complete project targets at Quang Trach Power Center

(QBĐT) - On the afternoon of February 7, Power Project Management Board 2, under Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the consortium of contractors held a launching ceremony to compete to complete the construction progress targets of projects at Quang Trach Power Center in 2025.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of EVN. On the side of Quang Binh province, there were comrades: Tran Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Phan Phong Phu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, and localities.

The Quang Trach Power Center Project consists of 3 projects: Quang Trach Power Center Infrastructure Project, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant and Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant. Both plants have a total capacity of 2,903MW, and are on the list of power sources in the Power Plan VIII approved by the Prime Minister .

Of which, the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project has a total capacity of 1,403 MW, including 2 units, using ultra-supercritical technology with an average annual electricity output of about 9.1 billion kWh. In 2024, the Power Project Management Board 2 coordinated with local authorities and related units to strive to overcome difficulties and compete to complete construction progress targets.

In particular, the Quang Trach Power Center Infrastructure Project has basically completed the construction of the coal import port and breakwater. In 2025, the dredging of the shipping channel, turning basin and installation of coal unloading equipment and coal conveyor belts will be completed to ensure the goal of supplying coal for the operation of Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant. At the same time, we will focus on striving and competing in labor to complete the main goal of ensuring the synchronization of Generator Unit 1 of the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project before September 2.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and determination of EVN and Power Project Management Board 2 in implementing the projects urgently and effectively. In particular, attention was paid to ensuring environmental sanitation, security, labor safety and social security in the locality. He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the close coordination of the Party Committee and authorities of Quang Trach district and other localities during the project implementation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong emphasized the significance and importance of the projects at Quang Trach Power Center in ensuring national energy security, improving electricity production capacity for the Central region and creating momentum for socio -economic development of Quang Binh province. At the same time, he affirmed that the government and people of Quang Binh are committed to continuing to accompany and stand side by side with investors, with the spirit of "the investor's business is our business" to provide maximum support, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, and ensure the project is implemented on schedule.

To complete the goal of synchronizing Unit 1, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant before September 2, 2025, creating a mark to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested EVN to focus maximum resources, direct units to speed up the project's construction progress, ensure quality, labor safety, environmental sanitation, security, order and social safety in the area.

The joint ventures of contractors, consultants, and construction units continue to promote a sense of responsibility, "overcome the sun and rain", compete in creative labor, create new momentum, and new determination to complete progress targets according to the set plan.

On the occasion of the New Year, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong wished the leaders of EVN, Power Project Management Board 2, contractors, consultants, officers, engineers and workers participating in the projects health, happiness and success.

At the ceremony, the Power Project Management Board 2, consulting units, and the contractor consortium signed a commitment to compete and be determined to complete the progress targets set in 2025, ensuring commercial power generation of 2 units of the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant project in 2026.

EVN leaders and provincial leaders gave gifts to encourage and motivate the units.

On this occasion, leaders of EVN, EVN Trade Union, leaders of Quang Binh province and the Provincial Labor Federation presented gifts and encouraged officials, experts, engineers, workers and laborers participating in the construction of projects at Quang Trach Power Center.
