The boat was found off the coast of Bragança, northeast of Pará, on April 13, Brazilian officials announced Sunday. Two investigations have since been opened.

Officials said at least 20 bodies were found on the boat, but because the bodies were so decomposed it was unclear how many people died on board.
Investigators told CNN that those killed are not believed to be from Brazil but may have come from the Caribbean.
Local authorities said there had been no recent reports of missing Brazilians.
Police were deployed at the port of Vila do Castelo in Braganca, Brazil on April 14, after fishermen reported finding a boat full of decomposing bodies off the coast of Pará state on Saturday.
