According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the livestock farming situation has shifted from small-scale farming to more concentrated and large-scale farming. The quality of breeding animals has gradually improved, shifting towards increasing productivity and quality. In the first 6 months of the year, the total pig herd was 945,258 (an increase of 21,200 over the same period), the cow herd was 515,575 (a decrease of 18,800 over the same period), and the poultry herd was 24.15 million (a decrease of 275,000).
However, the low price of live cattle has not encouraged households and livestock farms to expand their investment scale. The vaccination rate for livestock is low, not providing good protection for livestock; the form of livestock farming is small-scale, scattered, and does not ensure biosafety standards in livestock farming...
In the coming time, the agricultural sector will continue to coordinate with localities to monitor the epidemic situation and widely disseminate information about risks, and effectively implement disease prevention solutions for livestock. Develop concentrated livestock farming with a focus on biosecurity, disease safety, and environmental protection.
At the same time, strengthen state management of breeding work, strictly manage businesses of feed, veterinary medicine and veterinary services, promptly prevent and handle the use of banned antibiotics and growth stimulants to create safe products.
