The event, themed "Green Tech, Green Future", focuses on the fields of Data Center, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), 5G and sustainable technology solutions.
This is the 4th year that DCCI Summit has been organized by Viettel IDC and major technology partners, gathering more than 2,000 businesses and international experts, to share sustainable development trends in the world, best implementation methods in Vietnam, as well as promote cooperation in developing green data centers, Cloud and AI, towards a sustainable digital economy in Vietnam.
Strong growth thanks to AI contributions
According to the United Nations Trade and Development forecast, over the past 10 years, the total global revenue of products and services has grown from 2,500 billion USD in 2023 to about 16,400 billion USD in 2033, an increase of about 6.5 times. Of which, the market share of AI has increased from 189 billion USD to 4,772 billion USD, an increase of 25 times.
The above data was announced by Mr. Le Ba Tan, Director of Viettel IDC at the plenary session. He emphasized that AI has now become an extremely important tool, in some cases AI can even respond faster, provide more accurate information, and be more effective than our human assistants.
“Currently, AI has become a dominant technology, present in all areas of life and becoming an important factor in the technological world. All countries and economic corporations must take advantage of this opportunity to develop their businesses and develop their countries,” said Mr. Le Ba Tan.
In addition, the increasing development of AI will lead to a sudden increase in computing resources. The United States is the world's leading country, the cradle of AI technology. It can be seen that in the third quarter of 2024, the growth investment in infrastructure of the four major US cloud service providers, Meta, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, for the first time in history, exceeded the investment in the telecommunications and oil and gas industries, the two largest industries in the US.
Director of Viettel IDC commented: “Clearly, AI has been and is changing almost all investment activities and key investment categories of Big Tech, because businesses need to change their strategies to meet the requirements of economic development. The “locomotive” suppliers develop applications with global influence”.
Delegates were interested in emerging technology trends, especially in the fields of AI and automation, and their impacts on businesses. At the plenary session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Country Director of Google Cloud Vietnam said: “Today’s AI systems are not only capable of responding according to programming, but can also proactively learn, adapt and act based on set goals.”

Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Country Director of Google Cloud Vietnam, shares new trends in AI. |
One of the key trends is the emergence of applications that are capable of interacting and making appropriate decisions, helping people interact and work more effectively. These applications will have four main characteristics: cognitive ability, decision-making ability, self-learning and self-improvement ability, and the ability to pursue set goals.
Challenges and opportunities for data center development
Experts say that the forecast of data center scale in Vietnam by 2030 will reach 1,266 million USD, with an average compound growth rate of 10.8%, this market also has many challenges to solve. These are challenges in electricity and water consumption, carbon emissions, waste treatment and human issues to ensure sustainable development goals.
In fact, according to Mr. Le Ba Tan, the size of Vietnam's data center market is in a relatively high growth phase, forecast to reach 630 million USD this year and will reach 1.1 billion USD by the end of the decade.
According to statistics in 2024, Viettel IDC holds the leading position with 49% market share, while other enterprises such as FPT (17%) or CMC (10%)...
According to Viettel IDC, data centers are constantly expanding, leading to concerns about environmental impact. At this annual event, Viettel IDC sets goals and shares its commitments to ensure the dual goal of developing digital technology with sustainable green transformation.
At the same time, this unit hopes that the Vietnamese business community will join and choose to apply ESG appropriately to create a sustainable development value chain. ESG is a set of "green" indicators that measure the orientation and sustainable development activities of businesses.

Viettel IDC Director Le Ba Tan said that one of Vietnam's advantages is that the cost of building and operating a data center in Vietnam is much lower than in other countries in the region, so the price of renting services is also lower. This is a great opportunity for Vietnam in the context of the wave of data and technology infrastructure shifting strongly from developed economies to Southeast Asia.
However, according to Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Country Director of Google Cloud Vietnam, new technology trends, especially in the fields of AI and automation, will bring many opportunities and challenges for businesses. To maximize the benefits of these technologies, businesses need to switch to a new approach, focusing on establishing appropriate operating processes and integrating automation applications.
Share building sustainable data center
At DCCI Summit 2025, with three in-depth discussion sessions revolving around the topics of “Green Data Center”, “Energy-saving AI applications” and “Environmentally friendly Cloud solutions”, international experts from leading corporations such as AWS, Google, Microsoft… together with Vietnamese managers and businesses shared experiences, technologies, solutions for effective operation and development of green digital infrastructure.
During the data center session, speakers provided solutions to the problem of “AI-izing” infrastructure, from power, cooling, network architecture, to overall design. Experts focused on discussing specific strategies and solutions to sustainable energy sources for data centers, such as using renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and effective energy management measures.

Representatives from Cummins, a leader in clean and sustainable energy solutions, shared about clean and sustainable energy solutions. |
Businesses in the Asia-Pacific region are looking to invest in green technology and build an environmentally friendly digital ecosystem. ESG is an indicator that aims to operate businesses in a more responsible, transparent and environmentally friendly manner based on clear principles and standards.
Viettel’s new data center, which opened in Hoa Lac last April, is the pioneer data center to realize these green standards. The infrastructure system in this data center is designed, invested in and deployed using the latest equipment and technology with the highest efficiency and most energy saving today.
At this discussion, representatives from Cummins, a leading corporation in clean and sustainable energy solutions, shared about energy solutions that help data centers operate sustainably and minimize environmental impact in the AI era.
“The carbon footprint of a data center is created throughout all activities, from design, manufacturing, transportation of materials, and delivery to market. That’s why switching to renewable energy will help reduce the carbon footprint and conducting a carbon inventory to have a specific assessment basis,” said a representative from Cummins.
Viettel IDC Director Le Ba Tan emphasized that the Data Law in Vietnam will take effect from July 1, 2025. With goals such as achieving 80% digital payments, the Data Law is creating a strong driving force for the domestic digital ecosystem. This is also the right time for Vietnamese enterprises to explore new growth spaces.
