As a province with a large agricultural land area and a rich system of rivers, lakes and ponds, Vinh Phuc has many favorable conditions to develop key agricultural, forestry and fishery products such as rice, corn, vegetables, fruit trees (grapefruit, longan, orange), medicinal plants; raising pigs, chickens, buffaloes and cows on medium and large scale farms; developing production forests, planting timber and medicinal plants under the forest canopy.
To promote the sustainable development of these industries, the province has actively expanded the agricultural product consumption market through connections with major cities such as Hanoi , Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, especially the supermarket system, clean agricultural product stores and e-commerce platforms. At the same time, promoting on-site consumption through new rural experience models and farmstay, contributing to stabilizing output and increasing product value.
At the same time, the agricultural sector focuses on applying science and technology , building value chains associated with quality management systems, food safety, traceability and developing local agricultural product brands.
Strengthening regional and industry linkages in investment and development of key provincial products; promoting international cooperation, trade promotion and expanding export markets. Concentrated vegetable and fruit production areas have implemented chain linkages from production to product consumption.
By the end of 2024, the agricultural sector had issued 96 growing area codes, including 68 domestic growing area codes, 1 packaging code, and 27 export growing area codes; recognized 178 products meeting provincial 3-star OCOP product standards; built 28 production - consumption chain models; maintained 14 agricultural and food supply chains for Hanoi city.

The product is not only consumed domestically but also exported to markets such as China, Australia, Malaysia, etc. In particular, Lap Thach red-fleshed dragon fruit has been granted a Collective Trademark Certificate by the Intellectual Property Office since 2015, contributing to attracting businesses to participate in processing and diversifying products.
In addition to farming, livestock farming has also been promoted. Lap Thach, Tam Duong, Vinh Tuong and Song Lo districts currently have a total herd of more than 65 thousand beef cattle (accounting for 72.6% of the province), providing over 3,700 tons of fresh meat for sale (63% of the province's total output), mainly consumed locally and in neighboring provinces such as Hanoi, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, etc.
Dairy products are concentrated in Vinh Tuong district, partly in Tam Dao and Lap Thach. In Vinh Tuong alone, there are 185 farms, 1,750 households raising more than 15,600 cows, accounting for over 90% of the province's total dairy herd, making Vinh Phuc the 6th largest dairy herd in the country. Fresh milk products have been linked to chains with companies such as Vinamilk and the Dutch Dairy Company to purchase directly from the people.
To promote the effectiveness of market diversification in the development of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, the agricultural sector continues to organize production according to the value chain, strengthen the linkage between farmers - cooperatives - enterprises to ensure the production - processing - consumption process is synchronous, transparent and effective.
Promote the application of digital technology in traceability, promotion, and online sales; organize technical training, improve production and trade management capacity for farmers and cooperative officials.
The province focuses on planning concentrated production areas, investing in rural transportation, cold storage systems, preserving and processing agricultural products; developing collective brands and geographical indications for local specialties. Thereby, gradually building a modern, effective and sustainable agriculture in the new period.
