The movie 'Southern Forest Land' has been edited and the new version will be shown from the evening of October 16.

Mr. Vi Kien Thanh also explained why the unedited film Dat rung phuong Nam was still shown early in theaters on October 16.

According to him, the revised film version has been completed, meeting the requirements to avoid misunderstandings and associations; and the new version will be released in theaters from 6 p.m. on October 16.

The film crew said that in order to perfect and bring the best experience to viewers of the film Dat rung phuong Nam , the dialogue in the film will be changed from Nghia Hoa Doan to Nam Hoa Doan; from Thien Dia Hoi to Chinh Nghia Hoi. The producer also put the line "The film is inspired by the novel Dat rung phuong Nam by writer Doan Gioi" at the beginning of the film, to clarify the intention of changing the time frame earlier, around 1920-1930, compared to the literary work in 1945.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 15, amid public backlash, the producer proactively proposed to edit some misleading lines about the Boxers and Heaven and Earth Association in Dat Rung Phuong Nam. Instead of the scheduled release date of October 20, the film was also pushed up to October 16 by the producer because of the film's "hotness", with a revenue of more than 48.3 billion VND, as of 6 p.m. on October 16.

Sharing with the press about the film producer pushing the release date of Dat Rung Phuong Nam earlier than expected - showing the film right in the process of editing the film's dialogue, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh said that in the meeting on October 14, the Film Appraisal and Classification Council and a number of agencies and functional units re-evaluated Dat Rung Phuong Nam under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Accordingly, the council affirmed that the film did not violate the Cinema Law. This is also consistent with the council's decision on September 29.

“The Heaven and Earth Association or Righteous Boxer Association in the film Southern Forest Land was only used by patriotic people in the South at that time to carry out independent activities in Vietnam. Therefore, the producer proposed to edit it to Righteous Association, Southern Boxer Association. That was the filmmaker’s goodwill,” Mr. Vi Kien Thanh added.
