The second season of the online TV series Loki - one of the most anticipated projects in the "Marvel Cinematic Universe" (MCU) - has just released an official trailer with developments connecting the first season released in 2021. Filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead lead the team of directors directing the series.
Actor Quan Ke Huy appears in Loki season 2 trailer
The 2-minute trailer shows the aftermath of the events of the previous season, when superhero Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) and another variant, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), encountered the villain Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), causing the timeline to split. When returning to the main timeline, Loki's body was severely impacted, constantly deformed out of control.
Owen Wilson's Mobius character explains that Loki is suffering from a "time slip" that causes his body to split and disappear repeatedly. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to overcome. "I'm being pushed back and forth between the past and the present," Loki says.
The villains return, Loki's group joins forces to solve a new problem
After causing chaos and destruction in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania , the villain Kang the Conqueror returns and promises to bring some unexpected twists to Loki's storyline. Loki says: "War is coming."
Loki season 2 promises to delve deeper into the multiverse concept that the series itself explained to the audience at the end of season 1. When the clone Sylvie and Loki together overthrow the "time variance organization", they discover the truth about one of Kang the Conqueror's clones, and at the same time destroy the monster in the dark world .
Also at the end of the first season, the timeline was fragmented by the characters. The showrunners left a lot of questions unanswered about what the timeline that Loki returned to was really like, what Kang the Conqueror's intentions were when he returned in season 2, and how Loki himself would solve the problem he caused.
Loki season 2 movie poster
Loki season 1 premiered in 2021, events taking place after the events in the blockbuster Avengers: Endgame . At this time, a clone of Loki (2012 version) escaped into another timeline and had his own adventures, leading to events like in season 1 and continued in this season 2. Although introducing the audience to the concept of the multiverse and a series of different timelines, the film is told in layers, not confusing but very attractive. The film is rated 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
In addition to the above artists, season 2 also brings together actors such as Quan Ke Huy, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero...; expected to air next October on Disney Plus.
