On the afternoon of December 19th, in Dak Lak province, a delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong visited and extended Christmas greetings for 2025 at the Bishop's Residence of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly extended best wishes to Bishop Nguyen Huy Bac of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese, along with other dignitaries and Catholic parishioners of the diocese, for a happy and healthy New Year 2026, filled with success in both religious and secular life.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly informed the Bishop of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese about the socio -economic development of the country, especially the major policies and guidelines that the Party and State have been implementing in recent times, and the country's achievements in economic development and improving the lives of the people of all ethnic groups.
At the same time, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong acknowledged the contributions of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese to social welfare, national unity, and local development, especially its joint efforts in helping ethnic minorities during recent natural disasters.
The Party, State, and people of Vietnam always respect and guarantee the freedom of belief and religion of the people, creating the best conditions for the Church and Catholic people to practice their faith in accordance with the Church's guidelines and Vietnamese law, emphasized National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong. He also expressed his hope that in the coming time, religious leaders and Catholic people in the Buon Me Thuot Diocese will continue to uphold the tradition of living "a good life and a beautiful faith," actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, thereby contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and safety, and promoting socio-economic development in the locality, building and protecting the Fatherland.
Bishop Nguyen Huy Bac of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese expressed his joy at receiving the attention of the Party and the State, and at welcoming the leaders of the National Assembly and the delegation to visit and offer Christmas greetings at the Bishop's Residence.
Bishop Nguyen Huy Bac of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese stated that the diocese was established in 1967. Its administrative area includes the provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, and Binh Phuoc (formerly), with nearly 500,000 Catholics, of whom 128,000 are ethnic minorities such as the Ede and M'Nong. Local authorities always pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Catholic community.
According to Bishop Nguyen Huy Bac of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese, the economic life of the people in the Diocese is currently developing well, and security and order in the parishes and sub-parishes are stable. The Diocese also cooperates with local authorities to help and support the people in areas such as healthcare and education.
In particular, upholding the spirit of "mutual support," the Diocese has recently actively contributed, along with people nationwide, to supporting the people in disaster-stricken areas of eastern Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces, both materially and spiritually, hoping that they will overcome the difficulties caused by the floods and soon stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province, Ta Anh Tuan, also visited, congratulated, and presented gifts to the Bishop's Office of the Ban Me Thuot Diocese.
