During her working visit to Quang Ninh province, on the afternoon of January 1st, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, visited and presented Tet gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Dong Trieu City; and visited Mao Khe Coal Company, presenting gifts to outstanding workers of the company. Accompanying her were Mr. Vu Hong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic Committee; and Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.
Visiting and presenting gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Hue (102 years old) in Vinh Tuy 2 area, Mao Khe ward, and Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Phuong (88 years old) in Yen Lam 1 area, Duc Chinh ward, Dong Trieu city, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, extended greetings and encouragement, and expressed deep gratitude for the silent but great sacrifices of the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
The comrade affirmed that the Party and the State always pay attention to the work of caring for wounded soldiers and martyrs; activities to express gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; and prioritize allocating resources to implement policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution. This helps to alleviate some of the pain, loss, and sacrifices made for the cause of defending and building the Fatherland by the heroes, martyrs, and their families.
With heartfelt concern for the health and daily lives of the mothers, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly wished Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuong continued good health and encouraged their children and grandchildren to uphold the revolutionary traditions of their families, actively participating in learning, working, and production to contribute to the development of their homeland. He expressed his hope that the Party Committee, government, and people of Quang Ninh province in general, and Dong Trieu city in particular, would continue to better implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines for war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and those who have contributed to the revolution, thus further enhancing the nation's beautiful tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source."
On the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, along with her delegation, visited Mao Khe Coal Company (TKV). The Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly congratulated and highly appreciated the results achieved by Mao Khe Coal Company in production and business, as well as its efforts in caring for its employees.
With a journey spanning over 70 years of restoration and development, Mao Khe Coal Company has made remarkable progress in all aspects. From its early days with a workforce of only a few dozen people, the company now has 3,893 employees; raw coal production has increased from over 20,000 tons to over 2.4 million tons by 2024 and is projected to reach 2.5 million tons by 2025. The total production of the company by the end of 2024 is expected to reach nearly 60 million tons. The living standards and income of the workers have also steadily improved.
Expressing delight at the enthusiastic spirit of labor and production emulation on the first day of the new year at Mao Khe Coal Company, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly requested the company to continue leading and directing the implementation to complete the assigned production and business plan targets for 2025. This includes regularly researching and innovating technology, investing effectively in various types of mining equipment; promoting automation and gradually digitizing production and business activities, laying the foundation for the sustainable development of the coal industry. The company should also effectively carry out social welfare work, taking care of the health, housing, and transportation of workers; paying attention to the lives of employees during the Lunar New Year, especially those in difficult circumstances. In addition, the company must focus on environmental protection, promoting tree planting at waste dumps and completed mining sites, and planting additional trees to mitigate the consequences of typhoon No. 3. Investing in, constructing, and operating environmental protection facilities in a scientific and efficient manner will gradually achieve the goal of "greening the mining environment."
On this occasion, he presented gifts to encourage 30 outstanding workers of Mao Khe Coal Company.
