(NLDO) - On the afternoon of March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long inspected two expressway projects in Khanh Hoa province to ensure they meet the set deadlines.

On the afternoon of March 12, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long led a working group to inspect the progress of construction on two highway projects: the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway and the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot project (component project 1).

The Van Phong – Nha Trang section of the project, spanning 83.35 km (entirely located within Khanh Hoa province), is managed by Project Management Board 7 with a total investment of VND 11,808 billion. The land clearance for this project is handled by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway is nearing completion.

The project commenced in early 2023 and is expected to be completed by December of this year, as per the contract. To date, the project has essentially completed land clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure facilities.

Regarding the obstacles, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has directed relevant units to urgently resolve them and hand over the land for the project, including: 3 additional access roads for local residents, a rest stop in Ninh Hoa town, etc.

The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway project (component 1), spanning 31.5 km through Khanh Hoa province, is being invested in by the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee with a total capital of 5,333 billion VND. Construction began in June 2023. Khanh Hoa province aims to complete the first 20 km by 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister, with the remaining section expected to be completed in 2026.

This project involves land clearance of approximately 228.17 hectares, affecting a total of 1,033 households and requiring resettlement for about 101 households.

Currently, the project is facing land acquisition issues in 16 sections, including 12 sections passing through areas with houses on land requiring resettlement and 4 sections passing through areas where resettlement is not permitted.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to make efforts to resolve obstacles and meet the deadline.

Following a site inspection, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long commended the efforts of the local authorities, the investor, and the contractors in land clearance and construction, especially for the Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway Project.

However, the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project still has many locations where land has not been handed over, and the construction output remains low, failing to meet the planned schedule.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged localities, investors, and contractors to be more decisive and make greater efforts to meet the completion deadline for the 3,000 km of expressways by 2025.
