Established in 1926, AEON (1926) is a multi-industry corporation, operating mainly in the retail sector with a network of more than 300 subsidiaries and 26 member companies (through M&A activities). To date, the Group has developed 20,008 shopping centers, stores, and supermarkets worldwide. In 2024, the Group's revenue reached 63.2 billion USD.
Since 2014, AEON has invested more than 1.5 billion USD in Vietnam since 2014, focusing mainly in the following areas: Shopping mall development (7 locations), supermarket business, building maintenance management, import-export business and entertainment.
Talking to the Deputy Prime Minister and the delegation, Chairman of AEON Group Yoshida said that in addition to the commercial center sector, the Group wishes to promote investment and cooperation in the fields of finance, entertainment, digital transformation, and information technology.
Appreciating AEON's business results as well as its positive contributions to Vietnam's socio -economic development, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that AEON continue to create favorable conditions and increase the introduction of products in which Vietnam has strengths into AEON's supply chain to the Japanese market and the global market; and strengthen coordination with Vietnamese associations and partners.
Regarding the Group's new investment orientation, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his impression, welcomed and believed that it is necessary to quickly expand new facilities, with many different types, in accordance with the new administrative boundary adjustment of Vietnam.

Also on the afternoon of May 29, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung received Shin-Etsu Chemical Corporation and Simcoa Company.
Shin-Etsu Chemical is the largest chemical corporation in Japan, specializing in the production of construction and electronic materials such as semiconductor silicon. In Vietnam, Shin-Etsu has invested in 4 facilities, including a rare earth magnet material factory in Deep C Industrial Park, Hai Phong City, an electronic material factory in Hung Yen, and representative offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City trading polymer and silicon materials.
Simcoa is a silicone manufacturing company headquartered in Australia. In 1996, Shin-Etsu became the owner of Simcoa Company.
Welcoming Shin-Etsu's effective investment in Vietnam as well as Simcoa's plan to expand cooperation with Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged Simcoa's proposal on business cooperation in coal supply and import of coal from Vietnam and suggested close coordination with relevant ministries and agencies to connect with Vietnamese enterprises and partners, promoting the export of Vietnamese raw materials to enterprises.

In the context that Vietnam is focusing on promoting the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create growth momentum for the new period, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Shin-Etsu research and expand investment activities in the fields of high technology and innovation, including developing R&D facilities in Vietnam.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Shin-Etsu and Simcoa should strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises to transfer technology, train human resources, and participate in and create global value chains.
The Vietnamese Government is committed to supporting and creating all favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises in general and AEON in particular to deploy effective and sustainable business investment activities in Vietnam.
