On the morning of September 18 (local time), on the occasion of visiting Cuba to attend the G77 and China Summit, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha paid a courtesy call to President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo at the Cuban National Assembly building in Havana, the Government Newspaper reported.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on his first official visit to Cuba in his new position.
National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo said that Vietnam's delegation's participation and speech at the G77 and China Summit is a manifestation of the special attention of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to the traditional friendship and special cooperation between the two countries, contributing to the success of the conference.
National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo expressed his special affection for President Ho Chi Minh and was impressed by the achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have made in recent times. National Assembly Chairman Esteban Lazo expressed his delight at returning to Vietnam for the fourth time in late September 2023 to attend activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of Cuba's establishment of the Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam, the predecessor of today's Cuba - Vietnam Friendship Association (September 1963) and the 50th anniversary of Leader Fidel Castro Ruz's first visit to Vietnam and to the Liberation Zone of South Vietnam (September 1973).
Congratulating Cuba on successfully hosting the G77 and China Summit, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha once again thanked the Cuban side for the warm and respectful reception given to the Vietnamese delegation.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people of Vietnam will never forget Cuba's wholehearted assistance to Vietnam in the past, as well as its current support.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Vietnam always values, preserves and is determined to further deepen the traditional relationship of solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. Vietnam's consistent stance is to always stand in solidarity with and support Cuba, oppose and call for an end to the policy of blockade and embargo against Cuba. Vietnam will continue to make efforts with Cuba to overcome current difficulties.

Also according to the Government Newspaper, on the morning of September 18 (local time), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and his delegation visited and laid flowers at Ho Chi Minh Park, a symbolic milestone of the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
"This is a meaningful place in the capital of Havana so that anyone who comes here can express their remembrance and deep respect for the Vietnamese leader, a world cultural celebrity, who laid the foundation for the connection between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba; at the same time, to educate the young generation of the two countries to inherit, continue to preserve and foster the brotherly and comradely relationship, special solidarity, and loyalty between the two peoples" - the Deputy Prime Minister shared.
Writing in the guestbook at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed his emotion when visiting and offering flowers at Ho Chi Minh Park, a place with symbolic significance in terms of culture, history, and the special loyal and brotherly affection of the Cuban people for President Ho Chi Minh, the leader of the Vietnamese people - the embodiment of revolutionary heroism in liberating the nation from colonialism and imperialism around the world.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude and good feelings that the Party, State and people of Cuba have always given to Vietnam in the resistance war for national liberation and national construction today.

On the same morning, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited teachers and students of Alfredo Miguel Aguayo Primary School. This is a school with a rich tradition in the capital city of La Habana, where 609 students study.
On the occasion of the Cuban education system entering the new school year 2023-2024, the Deputy Prime Minister wished Cuban students much excitement and success in their studies and hoped that Alfredo Miguel Aguayo Primary School would form a sister school with a primary school in Vietnam.
