The main drivers of the market in this session were semiconductor stocks benefiting from AI demand. For example, Micron shares surged 19%, pushing the company's market capitalization above $1 trillion for the first time after UBS raised its price target for the stock from $535 to $1,625. Qualcomm shares also rose nearly 4.5% following news of an agreement to supply chips to ByteDance (the parent company of TikTok).
Confidence in the AI wave is also driving investors to focus on the initial public offerings (IPOs) of the largest private AI companies, including SpaceX.
Furthermore, market sentiment was also reassured after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that an agreement with Tehran to suspend the conflict could be reached in the coming days. At the same time, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that Tehran was seeking to release $24 billion in assets frozen abroad.
