Will Miu Miu's unique school style "cause a storm" again?

Miu Miu by Miuccia Prada closed Paris Fashion Week in style. The legendary designer, known for dressing “It” boys and girls all over the world, did just that for Spring/Summer 2024. Miu Miu welcomed us into the Palais D’Iena art museum in the French capital, sending the crowd into a thunderous applause to mark the opening day.

Historic columns and a grand display outlined the venue, which took centre stage with a Sophia Al-Maria collaboration. The ethereal experience was marked by a solemn poem about self- discovery , which saw models unveil a collection of preppy schoolwear. Miu Miu’s SS24 look was vintage, opening the show with embroidered school uniforms, checkered shirts and double-layered trousers. Ruffled tops and branded speedos were paired with flip-flops that were meant for pool time, while faded leather jackets and oversized belts were taken from the ’90s.

Mini skirts and decorative buttons came together on subtly toned-down looks, with dresses, skirts, and coats popping with yellow. Troye Sivan, Gigi Hadid, and Cailee Spaeny closed the show before a finale by Miuccia Prada with Fabio Zambernardi.
