According to the leader of Phu Quoc City Police, the rescue work encountered many difficulties due to the complex terrain of the flooded area and the strong currents. After many hours of searching "going to every alley, knocking on every door", the authorities were able to help bring many people to safety.
Among them was a woman in labor who was taken to Phu Quoc City Medical Center for timely emergency care.

Due to the influence of a tropical depression in the East Sea, Phu Quoc City has had heavy rain for many days, causing local flooding in some areas, of which Cua Duong commune is the most flooded area.

According to the Hydrometeorological Station of Kien Giang province, due to the influence of a tropical depression in the East Sea, some coastal provinces and cities have had rain and thunderstorms for many days.
Particularly in Phu Quoc city on the morning of July 14, it rained very heavily, with water levels ranging from 100-120mm. Previously, ferries from Rach Gia and Ha Tien to Phu Quoc had temporarily suspended operations due to bad weather.
