Phu Tho deploys many measures to respond to storm No. 3

To respond to storm No. 3, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial Civil Defense, Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, departments and branches of Phu Tho province inspected preparations for storm No. 3 at key locations in the province.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong inspected the vulnerable position of Gieng stream dike, Tien Luong commune.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong inspected storm prevention work No. 3 at Son Tinh pumping station, Phu Khe commune; flooded residential areas in Phuong Xa, Cam Khe commune and vulnerable locations of the right dike of Gianh stream, Tien Luong commune.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Trong Tan inspected storm response preparations in Cu Dong and Thanh Son communes. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Viet Van inspected storm response preparations at Trieu De drainage sluice, Pho Day river right dike, Son Dong commune; Ngu Kien drainage pumping station.

Provincial leaders requested relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with communes to proactively prevent natural disasters according to the "4 on-site" motto; strengthen warnings at vulnerable locations, culverts and areas at risk of flash floods and landslides.

Tan Hoa commune police helped evacuate people to safety.

Localities are required to proactively evacuate people to safe places; assign people to be on duty at key locations; review vehicles and equipment for requisition when natural disasters occur; prepare well in terms of forces, especially the police, army, militia and forces in residential areas.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant departments and branches to review, research, and balance public investment capital to invest in irrigation projects and flood and storm prevention projects; assigned the Department of Finance to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds for pumping operations during the 2024 flood season.

Cam Khe commune police gave life jackets and educated people about storm shelter measures.

On July 22, according to the Civil Defense, Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command of Phu Tho province, storm No. 3 caused heavy rain in the upstream area, leading to rising flood waters on rivers, causing the risk of flooding and landslides, directly affecting people's lives.

To date, communes and wards have evacuated 229 households in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safety.
