Phuong Liet: To ensure people have a joyful and fulfilling Tet holiday.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Phuong Liet ward has implemented many social welfare activities to ensure that all residents can celebrate the New Year happily and prosperously.

According to Ngo Minh Hong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuong Liet Ward, social welfare work is always implemented promptly and thoughtfully by the People's Committee of the ward, ensuring that policy beneficiaries and people in difficult circumstances receive timely attention.

For those who rendered meritorious services, the ward transferred Tet gifts from the central government to 828 people with a total amount of 258.3 million VND; and Tet gifts from the city government to 879 people with a budget of over 1.5 billion VND. In addition, ward delegations visited 15 exemplary policy beneficiary families; and presented gifts to officials and civil servants who are wives or children of martyrs currently working in the locality.

The work of caring for the elderly was also implemented comprehensively, with the distribution of funds for birthday celebrations to 1,330 people, totaling nearly 954 million VND. The ward also presented 165 gifts to children in special circumstances and donated wheelchairs to people with disabilities from social contributions, contributing to sharing difficulties and encouraging the spirit of the people before the New Year.

The spirit of "leaving no one behind" continues to be clearly spread through the "Compassionate Tet" program for the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026, organized by Phuong Liet ward. The program was attended by ward leaders, political and social organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and nearly 100 disadvantaged and vulnerable families in the area.

According to Ngo Minh Hong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuong Liet Ward, although the gifts may not be of great material value, they represent sharing and encouragement, giving people more faith and strength to overcome difficulties and build a better life.

Through social mobilization efforts, the ward's Red Cross Society received a total of over 303 million VND and 100 gift packages from businesses and philanthropists. During the program, the ward distributed 18 gift packages to particularly disadvantaged cases (each package including 3 million VND in cash and gifts worth 200,000 VND) totaling 54 million VND; and 82 gift packages to needy households (1 million VND in cash and gifts worth 200,000 VND) totaling 82 million VND. In addition, 147 gift packages worth 1 million VND each were distributed directly to residents through coordination between the Red Cross Society and neighborhood groups.

Along with taking care of the people's lives, Phuong Liet ward is promoting cultural and artistic activities, creating an atmosphere of excitement to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse.

Over 600 banners, billboards, and red flags have been displayed throughout the ward; large billboard clusters have been installed at key intersections along streets, creating a vibrant urban landscape during the Tet holiday.

The Spring Flower Market, held from January 31st to February 16th on Le Trong Tan Street, has also become a popular destination attracting many people to visit and shop, contributing to enriching the cultural and spiritual life at the beginning of the year.

With the coordinated efforts of the entire political system and the joint efforts of the business community and the people, Phuong Liet ward is looking forward to a safe, healthy, and joyful Spring Festival in 2026, contributing to strengthening trust and cohesion within the local community.
