Impromptu moments with Cuban youth union members and students

On the afternoon of April 21, Cuba time (early morning of April 22, Vietnam time), First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy and the delegation of the Central Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh visited and had an exchange with residents, union members, youth and students of Fraga Residential Area in La Lisa Urban Area, on the outskirts of the capital Havana.

After visiting the children's playground, houses and family vegetable gardens, shops, medical stations... listening to representatives of the Party Committee and the residential area's government discuss the organization and activities (590 households, about 1,600 people), the delegation of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union had a traditional and artistic exchange with students of grades 10-11 and residents of the residential area.

The exchange took place very naturally and spontaneously with performances from both sides. Here, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Bui Quang Huy and journalist Le Xuan Son - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong newspaper answered the children's questions about the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the unique characteristics of Vietnamese culture. First Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee Bui Quang Huy told the young people about the tradition and the unique special relationship between the people and youth of the two countries, advising them to study hard, become useful people for the Cuban Fatherland and contribute to the development of the Cuba - Vietnam brotherly friendship.

What is special is that between the First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy and the members of the delegation of the Central Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh, there was immediately a comfortable and intimate atmosphere like that between older brothers and older sisters and younger brothers, without the distance like international guests.

Cuban youth enthusiastically participated in the exchange with interesting questions and many special performances.

The exchange was made more lively by the unexpected appearance and speeches of two experts who had worked in Vietnam, Mr. Jose Alberty (an employee of the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi in 1969-1970) and Dr. Daniel Portala (who worked at the Vietnam-Cuba Hospital in Dong Hoi in the early 1980s). They told stories about Vietnam and gave the children useful advice.

A short and fun exchange took place immediately afterwards with the participation of the local district's art troupe. Here, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy presented souvenirs to the Fraga Residential Area; supported the operating costs of 500 USD to the Havana City Youth Union; 200 USD to the Fraga District Youth Union (previously presented a gift of 20,000 Euro to support the activities of the Central Youth Union of Cuba).
