Polestar 5 884 horsepower, 3.1 second acceleration, from 3.69 billion VND

The new 2026 Polestar 5 is the brand's iconic all-electric sedan with a massive battery pack, BWI suspension and special steering.

After years of electric SUVs, the Polestar 5 four-door grand tourer finally made its debut at the IAA Mobility 2025 show in Munich, Germany. Performance and design are the two distinctive elements of this sedan.

The Polestar 5's design features a number of improvements, including dual-blade headlights and a glass roof, but the rear window is removed (similar to the Polestar 4). The car's rearview mirror system is camera-based.

The Polestar 5's rear end remains impressive with aerodynamically efficient lighting and an integrated rear diffuser, providing a drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd. In addition, the Polestar 5 also has Brembo 4-piston front brakes, 15.7-inch two-piece brake discs, and premium BWI shock absorbers on both versions.

The dashboard measures 9 inches and the entertainment system features a 14.5-inch vertical center screen. The 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system features tweeter-on-top technology, while the standard version has a 10-speaker audio system.

The company's proprietary recycled fiber, called "BComp," is used on the seat backs and other areas in place of plastic. It's 40 percent lighter and uses 50 percent less fossil fuel-based materials than traditional materials.

Polestar 5 comes in two versions, Polestar 5 Dual Motor - the standard version and Polestar 5 Performance - the high-end version. The highlight is Polestar's 112 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery pack, with an actual usable capacity of 106 kWh, produced by battery company SK Innovation (Korea).

The Polestar 5 Performance version has a capacity of up to 884 horsepower and 1,015 Nm of torque; the Dual-Motor version has a capacity of 748 horsepower and 812 Nm of torque. The top speed of the two Polestar 5 versions is 249 km/h (155 mph). The 0-60 mph acceleration of the Polestar 5 Dual-Motor version is 3.8 seconds and the Performance version is 3.1 seconds.

The Polestar 5 Dual Motor has a starting price of 119,900 EUR (about 140,959 USD - 3.69 billion VND) and the Polestar 5 Performance is priced at 142,900 EUR (about 167,999 USD - 4.39 billion VND). The car will compete with the Porsche Taycan and BMW i5 sedan.
