Chevalier is a young goalkeeper with great potential. |
According to L'Equipe , Chevalier and Zabarnyi will be the last two pieces of the PSG puzzle this summer, as coach Luis Enrique is satisfied with the other positions in the team's midfield and attack. Lucas Chevalier reached a personal agreement with PSG last month, when the French club agreed to pay Lille around 40 million euros, including add-ons, to recruit the goalkeeper.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper will compete directly with Gianluigi Donnarumma, who could leave in the summer of 2026, when his contract expires. Current PSG sporting director Luis Campos worked with Chevalier at Lille.
He understands the goalkeeper's potential and believes he could be an ideal replacement for Donnarumma. As for Ilya Zabarnyi, PSG have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to recruit the promising Ukrainian central defender.
The deal is in its final stages, with add-ons still being discussed. Zabarnyi is expected to add steel to the French club's defence. Zabarnyi also played 39 games for Bournemouth last season.
He is expected to compete with Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Presnel Kimpembe for the centre-back slot at PSG. Both Zabarnyi and Chevalier are expected to make their debuts against Tottenham on August 14 in the European Super Cup.
