PSG suffers heavy loss after selling centre-back for 60 million euros

Skriniar joins Fenerbahce.

After a six-month loan spell at Fenerbahce, Skriniar was bought outright by the Turkish club in the summer of 2025 for a fee of 10 million euros. PSG suffered a heavy loss in this deal, having spent 60 million euros to sign Skriniar in 2023.

Skriniar signed a four-year contract worth 8 million euros per year at Fenerbahce. Coach Jose Mourinho highly appreciated this contract.

Skriniar was instrumental in helping Fenerbahce finish second in the Turkish Super League last season. With his solid defensive ability and vast experience, he is expected to strengthen Fenerbahce's defense next season.

Skriniar only played 29 times for PSG and did not score any goals. He was removed from coach Luis Enrique's plans.

In addition to Skriniar, Fenerbahce have also signed defender Nelson Semedo on a two-year free transfer. Semedo has played for Barcelona, Benfica and most recently Wolves.

Previously, Fenerbahce also successfully borrowed striker Jhon Duran from Al Nassr and bought midfielder Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. Mourinho wants to upgrade all lines to compete for the title with Galatasaray next season.
