On May 30th, News1 reported that PSY had apologized and explained the controversy surrounding the venue for his PSY Summer Swag 2026 concert in Gwangju. According to PSY, he had previously received information from the Gwangju organizers that the rental of the Gwangju World Cup Stadium had been approved by the stadium management. Therefore, his team announced the concert would be held there.
However, after verification, PSY's team realized that the stadium rental had not been approved. Therefore, he apologized to the audience. The rapper affirmed that he would quickly find an alternative venue and inform his fans soon.

"On behalf of the organizing unit in Gwangju, I apologize for this misunderstanding. In the future, I will check proposals more carefully and handle things more cautiously," PSY shared.
When a fan left a comment offering encouragement and hoping he would bring success to the show, PSY responded: "I'm very sad."
Earlier, on the afternoon of May 29th, PSY announced the schedule for his PSY Summer Swag 2026 tour. The show is scheduled to kick off in Uijeongbu on June 27th before continuing through several cities including Daegu, Incheon, Seoul Grand Park, Wonju, Suwon, Gwangju, Busan, and Daejeon.
However, shortly after the concert schedule was announced, fans of Gwangju Football Club voiced their opposition to holding the concert at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium. They worried that the stadium's turf could be damaged, affecting the quality of play and increasing the risk of injury to the players.
Following a wave of protests, the stadium management decided not to allow the PSY Summer Swag 2026 concert to be held at the venue. After the incident, PSY stated that he respects the opinions of local football fans and is working to find another suitable location to meet his fans in Gwangju.
