The less than 1-minute teaser of the Skull Island series (Brian Duffield - screenwriter of Love and Monsters - leads the team of writers writing the script for this series; filmmakers Brad Graeber, Brian Duffield and Jacob Robinson are producers) reveals many familiar and new monsters from the "monster universe" that have been introduced before.
Animated King Kong in Skull Island
This is the latest work in the "monster universe". Previous films produced by Legendary such as Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) have outlined for the audience the world of monsters beyond human understanding, this film contributes to expanding that world.
The film Skull Island tells the story of a group of explorers who struggle to survive on Skull Island after they accidentally get lost in the island while trying to rescue Annie. There, they face giant monsters such as octopuses, Skullcrawlers, and of course King Kong. Live-action versions of these monsters were introduced in Kong: Skull Island .
The Skull Island project was first teased in 2021. It is one of two animated series produced by Legendary for Netflix. The other project, Tomb Raider , is adapted from the popular video game series of the same name.

Also about the ever-expanding "monster universe", last April, Legendary released a teaser about the title of the 38th live-action film in this film world, which is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire . The film is directed by Adam Wingard. He was the one who steered and made the success of the first part, Godzilla vs. Kong (earning over 470 million USD worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo).
In the producers' description, Skull Island promises to be a "thrilling journey" where humans try to survive among monsters as big as mountains. All episodes will be released on Netflix on June 22.
