The training course took place over three days (from July 17 to 19), with the participation of more than 200 comrades who are commanding officers and military agencies of 5 provinces and cities; officers of the Regional Defense Command and the Border Guard Command. The training content focused on key, practical issues in current local defense and military work, such as: Handling border protection situations, border diplomacy, border gate management, immigration control; Party work, political work; organizing activities of the militia and self-defense force; national defense and security education; building combat readiness documents, selecting and calling citizens to join the army...

Notably, this training course aims to equip the staff with comprehensive and unified knowledge, meeting the requirements of arranging and organizing local military agencies according to the two-level government model after the merger of provinces, the dissolution of districts and the merger of communes. This is a necessary preparation step to improve the quality of staff and direction in implementing national defense tasks at the grassroots level, contributing to building an increasingly solid national defense posture associated with a people's security posture and a people's hearts posture. The test results showed that 100% of the students achieved good and excellent results, demonstrating a serious and responsible spirit in studying and training.

In his closing speech, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, praised the trainees' eagerness to learn and their activeness; and acknowledged the initiative and good coordination of the agencies and units serving the training course. The Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5 requested the Military Commands of provinces and cities to continue to concretize the training content into practice; direct and organize well the training courses for units and Military Commands of communes, wards and special zones to ensure that they are on time, close to the task and highly feasible, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new situation.
