Chinese, Russian, Lao and Cambodian military units participated in the National Day parade on September 2nd using different types of guns such as: QBZ-95, SKS, AKMS and M4 Carbine.

On the morning of September 2, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day took place solemnly at Ba Dinh Square. The highlight was the parade with the participation of tens of thousands of people including armed forces, marching masses, standing masses, along with military equipment and special vehicles.

Notably, the parade also featured the presence of four foreign military blocs: the Chinese People's Liberation Army bloc, the Russian Federation National Flag bloc, the Lao People's Army bloc and the Royal Cambodian Army bloc.

According to the introduction in the parade, the honor guard of the People's Liberation Army of China, established in 1952, is the only force responsible for serving the ceremonies of the Communist Party of China, the People's Republic of China and the People's Liberation Army of China. Over the past 70 years, the unit has successfully completed more than 13,000 missions. The People's Liberation Army of China and the Vietnam People's Army have written heroic pages of history about the spirit of solidarity against invaders, leaving behind deep affection, further fostering the relationship of "both comrades and brothers".

The handgun used by Chinese soldiers in the parade is the QBZ-95. The gun weighs 3.4 kg (without ammunition), is 76 cm long; of which the barrel is 52 cm long.

The gun is designed in bullpup style, meaning the magazine is located behind the handle, using 5.8 x 45 mm bullets. The gun's effective range is about 400 m.

The flag of the Russian Federation is an honor guard, representing the three branches of the Russian armed forces: the army, the aerospace force and the navy. During the Great Patriotic War, the Red Army of the Soviet Union made a decisive contribution to the victory over fascism. Today, the relationship between the Russian armed forces and the Vietnam People's Army is constantly being strengthened, bringing the traditional friendship and solidarity and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia to a new height.

Russian soldiers carry SKS rifles on parade. This type of rifle has been produced in the Soviet Union since 1945.

In Vietnam, this gun is called CKC. The gun uses 7.62 x 39 mm bullets and is equipped for honor guard units. In parades and marches, the honor guard of the three military branches also uses CKC guns.

The Lao People's Army was established in 1949. During the national liberation struggles, the Lao People's Army always stood side by side with the Vietnam People's Army to fight and defeat the invaders. Today, the Lao People's Army has been built and developed comprehensively in all aspects. Defense cooperation between the two countries has been increasingly strengthened, contributing to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

The handgun the Lao army carried in the parade was the AKMS, a type of AK assault rifle with a folding stock and a beveled barrel.

The Royal Cambodian Army, representing the army, navy, air force and gendarmerie. In the long-standing tradition of friendship and solidarity between the two countries, the Cambodian and Vietnamese armies have always stood side by side, fighting and defeating invaders. Today, the armies of the two countries continue to strengthen their friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, contributing to protecting the independence and territorial integrity of each country, under the motto of "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability".

The Royal Cambodian Army used the M4 Carbine in the parade. The gun weighs 2.88 kg and is 83.82 cm long (including the stock). The gun has a caliber of 5.56 mm, a standard magazine of 30 rounds; the gun has both automatic and 3-round burst modes.
