Some pensioners are worried when the information on the VNeID application shows that the health insurance card is only valid until December 31, 2025. The Social Insurance Agency has explained and provided guidance on this issue.

Hanoi Social Insurance (BHXH) said that when retired, social insurance participants will be given free health insurance cards during their pension period. The level of health insurance benefits for pensioners is up to 95% of medical examination and treatment costs.

Pensioners do not need to go to the Social Security agency to renew their health insurance card.

From June 1, 2025, implementing digital transformation, the Social Insurance agency will not issue paper health insurance cards. People use electronic health insurance cards on the VssID, VneID, and chip-embedded CCCD applications to go to medical examination and treatment... People who have been issued a valid paper health insurance card can still use it for medical examination and treatment.

However, recently, some pensioners are worried about the health insurance information on the VneID application showing the expiration date as December 31, 2025.

The Social Insurance Agency affirmed that the health insurance card issued to pensioners is free of charge throughout the pension period, and is automatically renewed by the Social Insurance Agency's data system. Pensioners do not need to go to the Social Insurance Agency to renew their health insurance card.

To use the VNeID or VssID application instead of a paper health insurance card, people can integrate their health insurance card into these applications by following simple steps. To integrate their health insurance card into VneID, people first need to update to the latest version of the VNeID application.

Then, open the application and log in, select "paper wallet", then select "integrate information". Next, select create a new request and enter the health insurance card number and card issuing unit information to complete the integration.

Regarding the VssID application, most accounts have been authenticated with population data and updated CCCD numbers. For accounts that have not been updated, users can access the address: https://dichvucong.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn to update the CCCD number or personal identification number.

During the data update process, if there are any difficulties, people can contact Hanoi Social Security or local Social Security for support.

Currently, there are some subjects impersonating Social Insurance agency officers calling to request health insurance card renewal, providing citizen identification cards, personal information to update on the VssID application - Social Insurance number or integrating health insurance cards into ID cards; thereby aiming to appropriate deposits in bank accounts of participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance.

Hanoi Social Security affirmed that the Social Security agency has no policy of calling, texting to make friends via Zalo application or sending links, QR codes to request participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance policies to provide ID cards, personal information to update on VssID - Social Insurance number, VNeID application or integrate health insurance cards into ID cards.

When there is a need to update or adjust personal information, the unit, participant, or beneficiary of social insurance and health insurance policies should directly contact the Hanoi Social Insurance and local Social Insurance for support and can do so on the National Public Service Portal, the Vietnam Social Insurance Public Service Portal, and the VssID application - Social Insurance Number. Transactions and interactions between participants and beneficiaries of social insurance and health insurance policies with the Social Insurance agency through the above official channels are free of charge.
