Teachers attend Hue singing training class at Hue College of Culture and Arts |
The program is part of the project "Protecting and promoting the value of Hue Singing Art Heritage until 2030".
During the training course, teachers were taught the theory and practice of Hue singing by experts and artisans in 16 sessions. The focus was on Hue folk melodies such as Ly Tinh Tang, Hoai Nam, Ngu O, Doan Xuan, Tieu Khuc and the melodies of Ho Mai Xap, Gia Gao, and Ho Khoan. Along with that, there were also Hue songs such as Luu Thuy, Long Diep, Lien Hoan, Ho Quang, Xuan Phong, Hanh Van, Tuong Tu Khuc... In addition, teachers participating in the training course would interact with artisans and Hue singing clubs.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City, in 2015, Hue folk songs were included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is a testament to the unique value and enduring vitality of this art form.
To continue the work of protecting and developing heritage, the department has built a program to bring Hue singing into schools with two contents: Training Hue singing for music teachers at secondary schools and teaching Hue singing to students in the form of Hue singing clubs at some secondary schools in Hue city. Thereby, forming awareness and responsibility in protecting and promoting the value of Hue singing.
