Nearly 1,000 actors and musicians will participate in the upcoming National Cheo Festival in Bac Ninh.

BAC NINH - According to the plan just issued by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, the 2025 national Cheo festival will take place from October 20 to November 5 at the Provincial Cultural - Exhibition Center, Bac Giang ward.

The event was organized by the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province and the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists.

It is expected that there will be 14 to 17 professional Cheo art troupes nationwide with nearly 1,000 actors and musicians participating. The units will bring many unique plays, demonstrating the creativity, talent and dedication of the artists to Cheo art - a national intangible cultural heritage, which is being profiled to UNESCO for consideration of being listed as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The festival is an opportunity for art troupes to exchange, share and learn experiences in composing, staging and performing; honoring works, artists, directors and musicians who have made great contributions to the art of Cheo. This is an opportunity for Bac Ninh people to enjoy outstanding performances, contributing to raising public awareness of the value and role of Cheo in contemporary life.

The event held in Bac Ninh is also an opportunity to promote the image of Kinh Bac land and people to friends across the country, promoting the development of culture, tourism and local socio -economy.
