Delegates attending the conference

Attending the event were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee, Chairman of the City Election Committee Nguyen Khac Toan; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Chi Tai; members of the City Party Committee: Nguyen Quang Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Chi Tai emphasized that this is an important conference in the election organization process to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates recommended by agencies, organizations, and units to run for the 16th National Assembly and the 9th City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. Determining the correct structure and number of candidates allocated to each component at this conference is the foundation for reviewing and selecting candidates for the National Assembly and the City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, ensuring the correct leadership and direction of the Central Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee (TVTU).

The first consultation conference discussed and agreed on two contents: "Agreement on the structure, composition, and number of people nominated to run for the 16th National Assembly" and "Agreement on the structure, composition, and number of people nominated to run for the 9th City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031".

Delegates participating in the discussion contributed opinions on the structure, composition, and number of people to be nominated as candidates.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the City People's Council presented the expected structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated for the 16th National Assembly, term 2026 - 2031. Specifically: The total number of National Assembly deputies elected in Hue city is 9, including 3 deputies recommended by the Central Government, and 6 deputies residing and working in the locality.

For the City People's Council term 2026-2031, the number of representatives will be 53.

Based on the Notice and the allocation document on the structure, composition and quantity presented by the representatives of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the People's Council at the Conference, the delegates attending the Conference promoted democracy, objectivity, frankness, and high responsibility in contributing opinions on the structure, composition and quantity of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the 9th City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.

On May 21, 2025, the 15th National Assembly issued a Resolution officially announcing that the election day for the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be Sunday (March 15, 2026).
