Cultural diplomacy - a bridge to spread Dong Nai's image

By organizing many rich and vibrant cultural, sports and tourism events and activities, cultural diplomacy also enhances understanding, arouses pride, the spirit of integration and creativity in every Dong Nai citizen.

Many outstanding results

Dong Nai Art Theater is one of the "pioneers" in staging and performing art programs to serve political tasks, as well as for internal and external affairs, improving people's spiritual life. With strengths in traditional and modern art forms such as: reformed opera, music and dance, water puppetry, in 5 years (2020-2025), the unit has organized dozens of performances, from participating in the Dong Nai Province Friendship Melodies Festival, ASEAN cultural exchange, to exchange events with art troupes from Japan, Korea, India...

In the 9 months of 2025 alone, Dong Nai Art Theater served events such as the exchange of high-ranking delegations from Champasak province, Laos to visit and work in Dong Nai; served the anniversaries: 75 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam - China, Vietnam - Russian Federation; 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam - United States and the Vietnam - United States image exhibition in Dong Nai province...

People's Artist Giang Manh Ha, Vice President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, President of the Dong Nai Province Literature and Arts Association, said: Over the years, the province's artists have always been persistent in their creativity, participating in regional and international art competitions, bringing home many proud awards, notably photography and a number of literary works.

“Not only stopping at composing, the association also expanded international cultural exchanges by signing the minutes of the meeting and poetry exchange with the Jeollabuk Province Writers Association (Korea). This is a particularly meaningful activity, opening up opportunities for artists from the two localities to understand each other better, and share the unique cultural, literary and artistic values of each land” - Mr. Ha shared.

Since the beginning of 2025, Dong Nai has participated in many promotional activities, cultural and tourism events attracting a large number of people and domestic and international tourists to visit and experience. Thanks to that, the cumulative number of visitors to Dong Nai in the first 9 months of 2025 is estimated at over 4.2 million, with tourism service revenue reaching over 3 trillion VND.

Along with promoting propaganda activities, Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts actively builds art programs, exchanges, and promotes the unique culture of Dong Nai through events attended by foreign guests. Most recently (April 2025), to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the school participated in exchanges and performances in India with many special performances such as: Dance of the Forest - the song of the Northwest; Golden Tray of the Mekong Delta dance; Cham dance of the ancient tower and Lotus dance - the cultural and spiritual symbol of Vietnam.

At Dong Nai Library, the work of building and developing a document repository for the foreign language reading room is being focused on. Many newspapers and magazines in English, French... are constantly being added, helping readers access diverse sources of information, and at the same time better understand Vietnam's viewpoints and stances on regional and international issues.

Dong Nai Museum regularly opens its permanent exhibition rooms to welcome domestic and international visitors; and historical, cultural and scenic sites in the province have welcomed many delegations from China, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore to visit and learn.

Not only active in the cultural field, Dong Nai also made a strong mark in the field of physical education and sports with many outstanding achievements in the regional and international arena. Dong Nai athletes have participated in a series of major tournaments in countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, India, China, Germany, Switzerland... and brought home many gold, silver and bronze medals in sports such as swimming, badminton, bodybuilding, kickboxing, judo, yoga. These results are a testament to the spirit of effort and aspiration of Dong Nai sports in the journey of integration and development.

Integration and dissemination of Dong Nai cultural brand

Currently, the Dong Nai culture, sports and tourism sector is promoting innovation in communication methods, promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam, especially the image of a dynamic, developed and integrated Dong Nai. At the same time, the sector focuses on preserving and promoting traditional artistic values through many annual performances, exhibitions and cultural festivals. Propaganda activities are enhanced, combined with tourism stimulus solutions. These efforts contribute to spreading the image of the land and people of Dong Nai to domestic and international friends.

According to Master Phung Ngoc Long, Principal of Dong Nai College of Culture and Arts, in the period of 2026-2030, the school will continue to proactively practice art programs imbued with the cultural identity of Dong Nai in particular, and Vietnamese culture in general to serve foreign affairs. In addition, it will strengthen connections with the Department of Foreign Affairs to carry out training, cooperation, and cultural and artistic exchange activities to gradually expand cooperation and deep international integration in the field of music when foreign delegations come to Dong Nai to promote investment in economics, culture, and education.

Chairman of the Dong Nai Province Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Thanh Tri said: Cultural diplomacy is a content that the Dong Nai Province Union of Friendship Organizations pays special attention to according to the Government's Cultural Diplomacy Strategy to 2030. The Union coordinates with units and localities to organize cultural, artistic, exhibition, sports exchange programs... contributing to tightening relations, enhancing understanding and solidarity between Dong Nai and international friends, while spreading widely the cultural values of Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular.
