According to the warning of the Department of Hydrometeorology ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), from morning to noon today, October 14, the rain in Hanoi will continue with a total accumulated rainfall of 20-40mm, higher in some places, many inner-city streets in Hanoi may be slightly flooded, the flooding time will last 20-30 minutes, longer in some places. Areas at risk of flooding include Thanh Xuan, Hoang Mai, Cau Giay...

According to data from the automatic rain gauge system up to 10am on October 14, many areas in the North have had high rainfall. Specifically, Hung Yen reached 199.8mm, Hai Phong 141.4mm, Quang Ninh 132.2mm.

In other localities, meteorological stations also measured heavy rainfall: Ninh Binh 77.6mm, Phu Tho 57.4mm, Thanh Hoa 57.4mm.

In general, rain covered almost the entire North (except for Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La provinces, which only had light rain under 10mm). In particular, heavy rain was concentrated mainly in the delta and coastal areas of the North, in which Hung Yen and Hai Phong were the two places with very heavy rain.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dai, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hanoi, as of October 13, Hanoi still had 1,372 households with 4,555 people affected by floods in the communes of Trung Gia, Da Phuc, Noi Bai, Kim Anh, Tien Thang, Phuc Thinh. There are 73 households (394 people) being evacuated in the communes of Tien Thang, Suoi Hai, Yen Bai. Accumulated as of October 13, Hanoi had 3,133.3 hectares of rice and 2,396 hectares of vegetables affected.

In a related development, an updated report as of the morning of October 14 from the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention said that currently in the northern flood areas, there are 3,188 flooded houses, a decrease of more than 9,000 houses compared to the previous morning. Of which, Bac Ninh has 1,587 houses, Hanoi has 1,503 houses.

Regarding electricity, 550,805 customers lost power in Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son and Hai Duong. By the morning of October 14, power had been restored to 525,311 customers, leaving 25,494 households without electricity.
