Attending the event were: Lieutenant General Ho Van Thai, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 9; Nguyen Van Bay, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City.

The exhibition consists of three parts: Historic Autumn, The Power of Faith and Continuing the Glory. The exhibition introduces more than 300 images, documents, artifacts and more than 200 books depicting the heroic spirit of the historic autumn of 1945.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Duong Cong Sang, Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 9, emphasized that 80 years ago, under the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, our people heroically and unanimously carried out the successful August Revolution, ending more than 80 years of colonial and feudal domination, seizing power, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia...

After 80 years of founding the country and 40 years of implementing the renovation process, from a poor and backward country, Vietnam has now risen to become a developing country. The exhibition aims to contribute to educating , encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Military Region 9 and the people, especially the young generation, to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of the August Revolution and National Day 2-9; to promote the spirit of self-reliance, determination in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
The thematic exhibition "August Revolution - a historical milestone" lasts until the end of September 2025.
