Opening of the thematic exhibition 'August Revolution - Historical milestone'

VHO - The exhibition "August Revolution - Historical Milestone" in Can Tho City displays more than 300 documents and artifacts, honoring historical victories and educating patriotic traditions.

On August 25, at the Military Region Museum (Can Tho City), the Political Department of Military Region 9 held the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition "August Revolution - Historical Milestone", celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The exhibition consists of three parts: Historical Autumn, Power of Faith and Continuing the Glory; introducing more than 300 images, documents, artifacts and more than 200 books expressing the spirit of the historic autumn of 1945.

Colonel Duong Cong Sang - Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 9 delivered the opening speech of the exhibition.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Duong Cong Sang, Chief of Political Affairs of Military Region 9, emphasized that exactly 80 years ago, under the wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, our people heroically and unanimously carried out the successful August Revolution.

The victory ended more than 80 years of colonial and feudal domination, seized power, and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the first people's democratic state in Southeast Asia.

The victory of the August Revolution in 1945 was a brilliant milestone in the history of the nation, bringing our country into a new era - the era of national independence associated with socialism.

The Vietnamese people have transformed from slaves to masters of the country; our country has transformed from a colony to an independent, democratic country; our Party has transformed from an illegal Party to a Party in power, bringing our nation to stand shoulder to shoulder with the pioneering nations of the world .

After 80 years of founding the country and 40 years of carrying out the renovation process, from a poor and backward country, Vietnam has now risen to become a developing country.

“The thematic exhibition August Revolution - Historical Milestone contributes to educating, encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers of Military Region 9 and the people, especially the young generation, to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of August Revolution and National Day September 2.

At the same time, the exhibition also promotes the spirit of self-reliance and determination in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," Colonel Duong Cong Sang emphasized.

The thematic exhibition “August Revolution - a historical milestone” will end at the end of September 2025.
