Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long expressed his sincere gratitude to the Party, State and people of Cuba for their most precious sentiments in helping Vietnam review the heroic history of the nation.
Ambassador Le Quang Long emphasized that the victory of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was a great turning point, not only opening a new era - the era of national independence and socialism for Vietnam, but also strongly encouraging the national liberation movement around the world, especially in Asian, African and Latin American countries.
“On the 80-year journey full of challenges but also great pride, we always appreciate and are grateful for the valuable support of international friends, especially Cuba - a friend, comrade, brother who has stood side by side with Vietnam in the most difficult times,” Ambassador Le Quang Long affirmed.

On behalf of the leaders of the Cuban Party and State, Comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, gave an emotional speech, reviewing the heroic chapters of the solidarity and fighting spirit between the two countries.
Comrade Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla recalled the immortal image of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro standing on Hill 241, just a few hundred meters from the front line, steadfastly raising the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, and declaring that has gone down in history: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its blood."
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez highly appreciated Vietnam's steadfast and loyal support in the Cuban people's struggle against the US embargo and the inclusion of Cuba on the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, and expressed deep gratitude for Vietnam's great support in the agricultural sector, contributing to ensuring food security for Cuba, as well as the meaningful donation movement launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, which exceeded all expectations.
“This noble and moving act once again affirms the truth: for Vietnam, solidarity with Cuba is a command of the heart,” the Cuban Foreign Minister emphasized.

This event is an important premise for the activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025) and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (August 13, 2026) to be held by the two countries in the near future.
The message throughout the ceremony was a strong affirmation that, despite the many fluctuations in the world situation, the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, which has been diligently cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, will be constantly consolidated and developed, forever a shining example of pure, loyal and steadfast international solidarity.
