A milestone in North Korea-Vietnam relations.

Speaking to the press, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk emphasized that the friendly cooperative relationship between North Korea and Vietnam is a precious one, personally built and nurtured by the leaders of both countries.

"Comrade Kim Il-sung, the great leader, had a close and profound relationship with Comrade President Ho Chi Minh , the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, based on genuine comradeship and revolutionary solidarity. He selflessly supported and assisted the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US, both spiritually and materially," Ambassador Ri Sung Guk shared.

The North Korean ambassador stated that amidst the flames of the common struggle against imperialism, for self-determination and socialism, the precious tradition of sincere friendship, support, and cooperation in times of difficulty has been built and has become the main factor guiding the relationship between the two countries through all historical storms, moving forward on a path of sustainable development.

According to Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, the lofty friendship and cooperation between North Korea and Vietnam, imbued with the spirit of the two countries' former leaders, has been elevated to a new level through the historic official visit to Vietnam by Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in March 2019.

Over the past 75 years, the two countries have continuously expanded and developed their relations in the political , economic, and cultural fields, and have closely coordinated in regional and international forums.

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed: "General Secretary To Lam's visit to our country and participation in the activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea will be a significant occasion to demonstrate the solidarity and close ties between socialist countries, as well as the enduring nature of the long-standing friendship and cooperation between North Korea and Vietnam."

The North Korean diplomat shared that the North Korean people would warmly welcome General Secretary To Lam as a valued envoy of the Vietnamese people and firmly believed that this visit would be a new and important milestone in the development of relations between the two countries.
