Milestone of North Korea-Vietnam relations

North Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk believes that General Secretary To Lam's state visit to North Korea (October 9-11) will be an important milestone in developing relations between the two countries.

Sharing with the press, Ambassador Ri Sung Guk emphasized that the friendly and cooperative relationship between North Korea and Vietnam is a valuable relationship personally built and nurtured by the two countries' predecessor leaders.

"Comrade Kim Il Sung, the great leader, had a close and profound relationship with President Ho Chi Minh , the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, based on genuine comradeship and revolutionary sentiment. He supported and selflessly provided spiritual and material support to the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US to save the country," Ambassador Ri Sung Guk shared.

The DPRK Ambassador said that in the fire of the common struggle against imperialism, for self-reliance and socialism, the precious tradition of sincere friendship, support and cooperation in the face of difficulties was built and became the main factor helping the relationship between the two countries overcome all historical storms and move forward on the trajectory of sustainable development.

According to Ambassador Ri Sung Guk, the DPRK-Vietnam friendship and cooperation, imbued with the lofty values ​​of the two countries' predecessors, has been raised to a new high stage through the historic official friendship visit to Vietnam by Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in March 2019.

Over the past 75 years, the two countries have continuously expanded and developed relations in the fields of politics , economics, and culture, and closely coordinated in regional and international forums.

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed: "Comrade General Secretary To Lam's visit to our country and participation in activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea will be a meaningful occasion to demonstrate the solidarity between socialist countries as well as the sustainable nature of the DPRK-Vietnam friendship and cooperation, which has a long history and tradition."

The North Korean diplomat shared that the North Korean people will warmly welcome General Secretary To Lam as a respected envoy of the Vietnamese people and firmly believe that this visit will be a new important milestone in the development of relations between the two countries.
