Today, October 11, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (Department of Hydro-Meteorology, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) issued weather forecast information for the whole country from October 11 to November 10.
Vietnam's meteorological agency has warned that in the next 30 days, there is a possibility of 2-3 storms or tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea, of which 1-2 may directly affect the Vietnamese mainland. This number is higher than the average of many years and October is usually the peak period of the storm season in our country.
Also during this period, cold air begins to operate in the North of our country and tends to increase in frequency and intensity, opening the transitional season in the North. According to Ms. Tran Thi Chuc, Deputy Head of the Weather Forecast Department (National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting), the combination of cold air and Northeast monsoon with hot air mass from the South often causes widespread heavy rain in the North and Central regions in the first days of the month.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also stated that in the coming time, the focus of floods and rains will tend to move to the Central region, especially the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai with many heavy rains, total rainfall is about 20-40% higher than the average of many years. The risk of floods, inundation of low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas is assessed at a high level.
