The Ho Chi Minh City Cultural Center recently concluded and awarded prizes at the 2024 Southern Vietnamese Traditional Music and Singing Art Workshop in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the theme focusing on Ho Chi Minh City and its achievements in 50 years of development since national reunification, the organizing committee selected 25 winning works, including 4 A prizes, 8 B prizes, 12 C prizes, and 1 prize for the traditional Vietnamese opera genre.

Many compositions were highly praised, such as the 32-beat Vọng Cổ song "It's Not a Simple Thing" by Võ Tử Uyên, "The City Full of Faith" (in the Tây Thi style) by Lâm Hữu Tặng, and "Celebrating the Great Victory Day" (in the "Bát Man Tấn Cống" style) by Dung Hồ. Dung Hồ also received an award for best performance of the song "Celebrating the Reunion" (in the Cổ Bản style)…
According to Nguyen Thi Hoai Phuong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Cultural Center, the center will organize many performances of the award-winning works in the near future, aiming to spread awareness among the public about the achievements of the creative workshop.
