According to a VNA correspondent in Algiers, with the slogan “For common and sustainable cooperation”, FIA 2025 brings together nearly 700 Algerian and international enterprises from 20 countries, operating in many fields from agriculture , processing industry, petrochemicals, construction, electricity - electronics, mechanics, to environment, tourism and education. This year, Oman was chosen as the guest of honor, reflecting the strong development of the relationship between the two countries.
Vietnam continued to make a positive impression with a national pavilion displaying catalogues and samples of more than 30 enterprises operating in the fields of agricultural products, seafood, food, footwear, textiles, wooden furniture, plastics, construction materials, mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.
In particular, this year, 4 businesses directly sent processed products such as beverages, confectionery, and jelly, attracting great attention from Algerian and international visitors.
Speaking to VNA reporters, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized: “Participating in this fair is not only to introduce high-quality Vietnamese products but also an opportunity to promote the country’s image, culture and tourism to international friends. I am very pleased that the Vietnamese booth continues to receive special attention from many African and European partners.”
In addition to the national booth organized by the Vietnamese Embassy, Hien Import Export Company Limited - a Vietnamese enterprise operating in Algeria since 2005, also participated with its own booth introducing traditional handicraft products.
Vietnam's continuous presence at FIA fairs over the past decade has demonstrated its strategic determination to approach and expand the African market - a region full of potential but also many challenges.
“For many years, Vietnam has participated in FIA. Participation not only helps Vietnamese enterprises access the Algerian market but also expand to other African markets. This is a valuable opportunity to promote brands, find partners, and boost exports,” said Commercial Counselor Hoang Duc Nhuan.
According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 5 months of 2025, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Algeria reached about 285 million USD, an increase of nearly 3 times over the same period last year. Of which, Vietnam's main export items include green coffee beans, pepper, cashew nuts, coconut rice, tra - basa fish, along with some industrial and consumer goods. In the opposite direction, Vietnam imports from Algeria products such as cassia powder, chicken feet, scrap paper, etc.
According to VNA reporters, on the opening day, the Vietnamese booth welcomed hundreds of visitors to visit and exchange information. Many visitors highly appreciated the quality of the sample products. Some local distributors also expressed their desire to connect with Vietnamese businesses.
FIA 2025 is organized by Algeria Exhibitions – a unit of SAFEX (Algerian Association of Fairs and Exports) under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the Ministry of Internal Trade and the National Market Authority. With an exhibition area of nearly 25,000 m², FIA 2025 is expected to attract about 400,000 visitors during the 6 days of the event from June 23-28.
FIA is considered one of the largest and most prestigious trade and investment fairs in the North African region, creating a platform to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
